Vice President, Sustainability

Job Description

The VP, Sustainability, reporting directly to the CTO, is responsible for leading the development and implementation of an integrated sustainability strategy, with associated goals designed to drive business results, reduce risk and ensure continuity and enhance brand value.

Responsibilities

  • Review, prioritize and advise the CTO and ELT on the strategic goals and objectives of sustainability, and the quality and future direction of the company’s sustainability efforts.
  • Partner with all businesses and functions across the organization, especially HSE, to provide insight and direction management regarding sustainability metrics and progress.
  • Ensure senior leadership are fully aware of sustainability trends, priorities and strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Company’s internal groups (e.g., HSE, plant operations, engineering, environmental, legal, supply chain, marketing, etc.) to develop an integrated and coordinated sustainability plan.
  • Build sustainability metrics into short and long-range research and development planning, business planning, capital planning and operations planning.
  • Coordinate annual reporting events including ADNOC’s annual sustainability report, questionnaires and industry surveys as well as engaging with key external reporting organizations.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop internal and external communication strategies to publicize the company’s sustainability effort and promote broad awareness of initiatives including the annual sustainability report.
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls and measurement systems are in place to support sustainability efforts.
  • Measure and monitor progress against key strategies, objectives and performance targets.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and analyses for key metrics and special projects.
  • Prepare summaries of sustainability progress and highlights.
  • Create innovation dashboards to continuously monitor all innovation activities.
  • Regularly report to the CTO, Business Directors, and ELT on the health of ADNOC’s sustainability portfolio and key initiatives.                   

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have work experience in leading sustainability for large organizations, ideally in oil and gas and/or petrochemical industries.

The role will also require someone able to prioritise easily and work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience

Advanced qualification in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering
