JOB PURPOSE:

 

Provide specialized guidance and inputs for well engineering/ drilling activities and operations to ensure that all activities and operations are done in conformity with ADNOC procedures and practices. Conduct reviews/studies and endorses the wells applications for all different types of wells and monitors the drilling operations and safety performance.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Initiate and follows up the drilling and re-entry activities in addition to relevant well engineering studies as necessary to be carried out by consultants or operating companies, correlates results and interprets findings in terms of action and decision as required.
  • Provide specialist advice on the drilling planning strategies for the drilling/ exploration projects. This includes providing advice on well design and unconventional drilling techniques.
  • Monitor the assigned undeveloped reservoirs appraisal operations and participates in tasks force teams with Operating Companies. Initiates, develops and follows up procedures to monitor reservoir development drilling and re-entry operations performance ensuring that the activities are performed according to ADNOC objectives and interests.
  • Keep abreast about new drilling technologies and best practices by attending the international conferences and/or benchmarking and manages the transfer of such technology and practices to Group Companies. Reviews results and makes appropriate recommendations accordingly.
  • Reviews the short, medium and the long terms business plans to ensure its conformity with drilling requirements.
  • Develops, discusses and agrees with Group companies the performance indicators (KPI) and short and long term targets for drilling and re-entry operational performance management purposes.
  • Participates in Group Companies Technical Committee Meetings and Drilling Well Integrity Sub Committee Meetings and advises on drilling related issues. Assists in cost control and in preparing the annual budget for the reservoirs operations.
  • Initiates and coordinates to organizes workshops, meetings, taskforces, etc., to address the challenging unconventional reservoirs drilling and HSE issues, evaluates the outcomes to be implemented to solve the issues.
  • Monitors the HSE performance of Operating Companies to ensure that the safety and environmental performance is given the highest priority during all phases of drilling and completion.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent

 

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 10 years of experience, in Well Engineering activities, modelling etc.
