Analyst, Upstream & Downstream Solutions

JOB PURPOSE:

 

As a key member of the IT Business Solutions team, the Analyst (Upstream & Downstream Solutions) deploys, customizes, maintains and supports high quality, cost effective Upstream & Downstream solutions to meet ADNOC Group IT business requirements.

Analyst (Upstream & Downstream Solutions) plans, coordinates and participates in development of domain specific strategies and plans and in the evaluations and reviews of business processes required for new solutions deployment, existing applications and services change management, applications security and controls, and the provision of enhancements of existing applications, solutions and services.

The Analyst (Upstream & Downstream Solutions) leads and coordinates the development and support of required interfaces between existing and future systems. Participates in the evaluation of packages to match business requirements and undertakes configuration, testing, upgrade, and maintenance of the Company IT solutions and services.

Job Specific Accountabilities

 

IT Strategic & Tactical Planning

.

  • Coordinates with the internal team members to ensure that the Upstream & Downstream solutions related IT strategy components are successfully translated into solutions and services.
  • Ensures the sectional tactical plans and planned items are implemented; in full coordination with other IT departments and sections. 

 

Upstream & Downstream Solutions Delivery

 

  • Conducts the analysis, scope development, technical evaluations, and prototyping, developing, implementing and delivering Solutions Delivery
  • Conducts the capture of the business requirements related to the Upstream & Downstream domain.
  • Ensures the delivery of the vertical’s business requirements and services according to the Company standards and strategies.
  • Supports the vertical’s business users and beyond in line with pre-set SLAs and delivery guidelines.
  • Conducts the development, implementation and support of high quality and cost effective Upstream & Downstream solutions and services deemed critical to the business operations.
  • Ensures that the Upstream & Downstream solutions section meets the appropriate service level agreements established with internal and group users’ functions. Also that the services delivered by the engaged external organizations are delivered within the agreed service levels.
  • Ensures that all deployed Upstream & Downstream solutions have followed a comprehensive testing and quality assurance process, quality assurance reviews and have fulfilled the Group IT Unit services release process requirements.
  • Ensures that the enterprise architecture principals, data management and information security standards are applied throughout the solution development and implementation lifecycles.
  • Reports to the IT Business Solutions management on the progress of assigned programs and projects against plans, in terms of schedule, resources and cost.
  • Ensures that all initiatives and projects are managed in compliance with the Projects Management Methodology and related standards.

 

Conducts systems' pre-deployment activities

 

  • Conducts feasibility studies, assesses business requirements and assists in designing business processes for small to large systems and implementations. Submits findings and recommendations for review, evaluation and approval by IT and Business management. Participates in feasibility studies of IT Programs undertaken within the Unit wherever required.
  • Analyses functional requirements including input transactions, output reports, functional processes, etc. and recommends solutions and process improvements for user approval to establish functional specifications.
  • Performs impact analysis for new development to ensure synchronization and integration of cross-functional business solutions and systems.
  • Support in the development of business cases and projects initiation documentations and artefacts.

 

Evaluates new solutions and services

 

  • Evaluates off-the-shelf packages to ascertain the degree of fitness with existing business processes and recommends appropriate solutions to business requirements.
  • Technically supports the existing ERP and other enterprise solutions implementations.
  • Wherever required, develops the required interfaces between various solutions while ensuring systems and data availability, integrity and service continuity.
  • Develops fit-for-purpose and secure software programs. Test them to ensure their fulfilment of business requirements and their compliance with ADNOC Group IT standards and policies.
  • Receives, assesses and prioritizes change requests from the existing IT services owners and users.

 

Documents the Company IT solutions and services

 

  • In coordination with the enterprise and technology architects; prepares solutions design documents, data models, data flow diagrams and other system architecture artefacts.
  • Updates the solutions documentation throughout the company systems development & support lifecycles in accordance with the Company standards on the subject.
  • Archives and keeps available all as-build solutions documents and artefacts.

 

Acts as an SME for the future domain specific implementations

 

  • Implements the best practices for all Upstream & Downstream Solutions and services implementations
  • Plans and undertakes the deployment of the required new software releases.
  • Provides the required training and support to users during and after deployment of IT Solutions.

 

Other Duties

 

  • Contributes toward and promotes the protection of ADNOC IT assets and corporate information against threats to their security by implementing the Company information security standards and all other related policies, regulations and guidelines.
  • All other duties as required.

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective business objectives.

  • Provide input for preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

  • Implement approved Function / Division / Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.
  • Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

 

Performance Management

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function / Division / Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

 

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

 

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices

 

Reports

Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 6 years of relevant IT experience including at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in IT with emphasis on IT solutions and application development.
